Fall Line Construction is a partnership built on over 50 years of combined experience in ski area construction, trail construction, excavation, and sitework across northern New England. United by a shared background in ski racing in the Mount Washington Valley during the early 1980s, founders David Miller and Matthew Howard have transformed decades of friendship and field experience into a company defined by precision, reliability, and deep industry knowledge.
David Miller—a Fryeburg Academy and Johnson State College graduate with a degree in Business Management—brings over 30 years of expertise managing excavation and sitework projects from estimation through close-out. His portfolio includes projects ranging from $50,000 to $4.3 million, and as the owner of a prior general contracting firm, he directed construction operations exceeding $8 million annually. Dave’s specialization in earthwork, grading, and heavy civil excavation includes scheduling, supervision, materials procurement, subcontractor coordination, cost control, and deadline management—ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and safely.
Matthew Howard, heading Business Development and Estimating, is a Kennett High School and UNH Whittemore School of Business and Economics graduate. Since beginning his career in 2003 as a civil construction estimator, Matt has leveraged advanced digital tools to perform accurate quantity takeoffs directly from CAD and design engineer files. His responsibilities span new project planning, takeoffs, estimating, budgeting, and proposal preparation, along with client negotiations and strategic growth planning. His leadership in ski area and mountain infrastructure projects has been instrumental in driving Fall Line’s growth and reputation for precision-based estimating and execution.
